"The river takes you places, the pond takes you nowhere"

 

You're Going Nowhere in the Pond was a site specific music theatre project set in the Penryn Grotto at the bottom of the university campus. The piece explored the history of the site and told the story of how the star shaped pond came to be. Using song and puppetry the piece progressed from a tale of soldiers passing the time by building a pond into something far darker as the soldiers were lured into the nearby river by a mysterious dark mermaid...

 

The piece was primarily music driven and contained multiple songs written by the group which were sung a capella as well as acompanied by a melodica. This piece was a collaborative devised project between Tamsin Stone, Jenny Tripp, Peter Holmes, Rosa Irwin Clark and Ryan Green.
