My name is Tamsin Stone and I will be graduating Falmouth University with a BA hons in Music Theatre this year. My areas of interest include storytelling, puppetry, song writing and directing.
Before setting of to Cornwall in 2011 I held a keen interest in devising which I threw myself into throughout my time at school, as well as taking part in Musical Theatre productions and Pantomimes. I continued my interest in Musicals and performed with Tremough Follies throughout my three years at Falmouth, however my main focus has been in devising contemporary work since being at university.
Storytelling has always fascinated me from a young age, especially fairytales and stories that we are told as children. I have found that these types of story lend themselves perfectly to contemporary theatre and I enjoy experimenting with them and finding new ways to bring old tales to life. Puppetry is a great way to tell stories and a lot of my work incorporates puppetry. I am also a classically trained Mezzo Soprano and therefore love to incorporate live song into my work. After studying Music Theatre I have discovered a love of song writing and I have found that adding music to my work allows the stories to be brought to life.
Throughout my time in Falmouth I have been lucky enough to collaborate with other like minded people who share my interests in storytelling and puppetry and I am keen to continue creating work.
